Maze Incense
Performance by Ioana Popovici
What would we see if you were secretly observed in your home? Would acquaintances recognize you, or would they be surprised by what you’re doing? Who are you when no one is watching? Maze Incense focuses on the idea of absence of dissimulation in the home environment and deals with transparency. The aim of Ioana Popovici’s performance is to approach the unresolved, forgotten or even uncomfortable areas of the self, showing situations of boredom, procrastination, failure, confusion, and cowardice. All those sides that we all try to hide in public. Maze Incense is a personal dialogue with the self, free of masquerade and artificiality.
Already in 2015 Ioana Popovici presented her exciting performance work in regress as part of the International Performance Festival at pad. We are very excited about their new production!
