Japanese-based and London-based artist Mamoru Iriguchi has inspired our festival audiences in recent years with his multimedia performances and surrealistic video animations.
This year he draws on his cartoonist skills and will be painting the street scenery and events on the windowpane on two evenings in the showcase of the performance art depot. “Through the Window” investigates the communication between performer and viewer through the barrier of the so-called “fourth wall”, which embodies the glass of the shop window in the literal and material sense.
