Finally, after 60 years, Liz Aggiss gives herself permission to do whatever she wants … better late than never!
But who is supposed to like it – you? Or just yourself?
“The English Channel” is the story of the career of an aged dance film and performance diva. Aggiss revives her stage life and returns to the limelight! She becomes a medium (“channel”) for stubborn female characters, bringing hidden stories and lost truths to life. As our link to the other side, she wisely and cynically comments on life and death as well as pain, joys and the paradox of stage life.
Combined with rarities from the dance film archive, film projections by Joe Murray and Alan Boorman / Wevie’s specially written for “The English Channel” song, which is peppered with groovy musical numbers. The grand old lady of the British dance and performance scene promotes quirky medium with their choreographies and also the one or other surprise guest from the afterlife directly on the pad stage.
No one should miss out on this blast event at our festival!
