Strascichi

strascichiFront

The Italian term Strascichi describes the aftermath of a terminated relationship: memories, feelings like pain and grief, but also the hope for a new beginning.
A cheesy cardiac pain performance? Not even close! In her solo, Irene Russolillo, handles all those feelings into a self-deprecating, choreographic farce of laughter and suffering, creating a unique combination of dance, poetry and lard pop song. Fidgeting, crawling, jumping, spinning and shaking, with an alienated and distorted language, the Italian dancer takes us on a ludicrous dive through states of mind such as fragility, melancholy, trepidation, frustration but also love of life, coquetry and emotion.
A refreshingly funny, winding but also simply beautiful winking statement with the pain of love.
