La [SIC] (Barcelona) – Martyre
As a final highlight we present to you: Martyre, one of two exclusive premieres.
The young four person Performance Company La [SIC] from Barcelona gets right to the core of life’s central issues. Inspired by a play of the same title written by famous and controversial Japanese cult author Yukio Mishima the director Nicolas Hermansen developed Martyre: a play about our fears and feelings related to ageing. Love, sexual desire and the fear of death are the main elements of this aesthetic performance.
La [SIC] manages to create an almost non-verbal piece of art out of fictional literature. Sound and light combined with choreographic gestures form an extremely exciting performance. It convinces by meticulous precision of the scenic language so that the audience is captured from the first moment to the last.
