On March 6th, 2010, the pad’s leadership team was invited to a public discussion forum, where the so-called “Workshop Living Cultural Landscape” under the direction of Minister of Culture Doris Ahnen and the new Cultural Affairs Director Marianne Grosse with numerous participants – mainly artists from the Mainz scene – discussed the opportunities and the needs of Mainz and Rhineland-Palatinate cultural landscape are discussed.
The main aim was to identify abuses of cultural policies and to eliminate in the coming years. The financial problem situation of new institutions crystallized as the main problem.
On our K-Friday we would like to inform all interested parties about this event, would like to get to know further point of view and arguments, in order to introduce them into the announced follow-up events. We would be very happy about a lively participation – especially from the circles of the so-called free scene – our colleagues. Of course, everyone is invited who wants to get involved in this discussion.
